Les Terres Roses is crafted by blending a high percentage of Chardonnay (65%) with Bouzy Rouge, a perfectly balanced still red wine made from old vine Pinot Noir. Grapes: 65% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir (of which 6% is added as red wine) Vintage: based on 2012 (70%) and 2011 (30%) Dosage: 4,5 grams per liter (Extra-Brut)
Les Terres Roses's Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were vinified in stainless steel. The Bouzy Rouge, sourced from the 2012 vintage, was vinified 18 months in 205-litre oak casks undergoing spontaneous, natural alcoholic and malolactic fermentations.
The champagne is aged in our 19th century cellars at a depth of 53 feet/16 meters and at a constant 50°F/10°C temperature. The combination of a second slow fermentation (2 months) and 4 years of sur lie ageing crafts a wine of balance and texture.
The pale pink color of this rosé hints of a well-structured wine with pure aromatics. Notes of mineral and Iris blossom are followed by aromas of raspberry and red currant plus fresh-squeezed grapefruit and mandarin orange. There is a tantalizing interplay between acid and fruit...both red and white. The finish is long, lasting and succulent.
